Romantic Gentlewomen at Chloé’s Show with a Mix of Men’s Tailoring and Dreamy Gowns
Fashion One invites you to join us for the Chloé autumn/winter 2015 ready-to-wear presentation at Paris Fashion Week. We take a look at the VIP guests arriving and facing the photographers on the front row, where stars including Olivia Palermo, Miroslava Duma, Sofia Sanchez Barrenechea and Kelly Rowland were in attendance.
Creative director Claire Waight Keller talked to us about her latest designs and the inspiration for the new season collection. The clothes were designed for a strong, confident gentlewoman who has a deep sense of femininity and softness. There was a 70s vibe with long, flowing, bohemian gowns and flared trouser suits, but the careful tailoring as well as sexy splits and diving V necklines kept things fresh. Other eye-catching garments included waistcoats, ponchos and cape jackets accessorized with skinny scarves, leather bags and boots.
Keller was interested in exploring masculine elements working on a female frame and worked down from the shoulders when constructing the garments. The evening wear had a darker palette of rich hues influenced by Dutch paintings which added an intense poetic feeling in contrast to the lighter romantic day wear. The silhouette was stretched long and lean intentionally, referencing menswear elements like dropped waist pants and further asserting the power of the Chloé woman.
