Striking Patterns, Bold Colors and Zodiac Motifs from Emilio Pucci in Milan
Let us introduce you to the latest designs from Emilio Pucci for autumn/winter 2015 presented at Milan Fashion Week. Take a look at the models in hair and makeup, where the look for the show was center parted straight hair and fresh makeup as they pose for the press alongside the designer backstage.
The stunning catwalk show was held at the decadent Palazzo Serbelloni and featured striking geometric monochrome patterns, block stripes and abstract swirls as well as astrological motifs in an array of velvets, lace, jersey knits and flowing gowns. Modest necklines were finished with turtleneck collars, bow scarves or detached wide chokers, all on a decidedly long and lean silhouette.
We spoke to designer Peter Dundas who told us all about his ideas and concept for the new collection. Originally starting from a limited graphic black and white palette Dundas couldn't deny his hunger for color and injected shades of red, as well as other bold gem hues in dresses and sweaters. Taking inspiration from zodiac signs he wanted to create something unexpected, and the main theme was a play with extremes in the silhouette by showing mini skirts or shorts alongside voluminous maxi dresses, or else super wide leg flowing pants, as well as longer coats contrasting with cropped jackets all in a clash of color and pattern.
