Winona Ryder and Cher Star in the New Marc Jacobs Campaign
The first campaign image to be released to the public was revealed by stylist and editor-in-chief of Love magazine Katie Grand on Instagram. The image, which ran in WWD the same day, shows 69-year-old icon and music legend Cher sitting pretty in a leather jacket and floor length black gown. Cher previously accompanied Jacobs to this year’s Met Gala as his date.
Fashion’s favorite bad girl Winona Ryder also has a starring role in the campaign. One image shows Ryder on a ladder in a black trench coat and matching black gown––a look that is reminiscent of her role in Beetlejuice. Another image shows Ryder in oversized sunglasses with hair and an expression that both look electrified, referencing Ryder’s cinematographic past once more.
The rest of the campaign images, all shot by David Sims, have a similar feel. Moody, slightly eerie and completely badass, Marc Jacobs has sure outdone himself this time.
